अतिशहाणा त्याचा बैल रिकामा
एकदा माझ्याकडे केतकर नावाचा मुलगा वाशीवरून भेटीसाठी आला. त्यांचे गुरू श्री. दांडेकर (अप्पा) यांनी पाठविले होते. माझे एकंदर स्वरूप व प्रथा काय आहे हे त्यांना जाणून घ्यायचे होते. त्यात केतकर यांनी आपली समस्या मांडली होती. त्याला व्यवस्थित नोकरी नव्हती, तसेच त्याचे एका मुसलमान मुलीशी प्रेमसंबंध होते, परंतु घरचे तयार नव्हते. तसेच मुलीचे नातेवाईक केतकरांच्या जीवावर उठले होते.
नाथांच्या आदेशाने त्याचा विवाह झाला. त्याला नोकरी ही चांगली मिळाली. परंतु जीवब्रह्मसेवेसाठी काहीही करण्याची त्याची तयारी नव्हती. त्याच्या ओळखीने “ताई” आल्या ज्या त्यांच्या ग्रुपमध्ये थोड्या श्रेष्ठ होत्या. ताई व त्यांच्या नवऱ्यात फारकत होती, तसेच काही महाराजांकडून त्यांची घोर फसवणूक झाली होती. त्यांना शारीरिक पीडाही होत असे, विशेष करून अमावस्या-पौर्णिमेला.
माझ्याकडून एकदा त्यांच्यावरून उतारा करायचे ठरले त्याप्रमाणे तसे केलेही, त्याने ताईंना खूप बरे वाटले. उताऱ्यातील सर्व वस्तूंची माझ्याकडून माहिती करून घेतली. “यापुढे हा उतारा आपण आपलाच करून घेऊ” असे त्यांचे गुरु व ताईनी ठरवले. एका माणसाला पकडून त्यांच्याकडून वरील उतारा करून घेतला व त्याचा दुष:परिणाम झाला. ताईंनी थेट बिछाना पकडला. मी रिटायर्ड झाले की तुमच्या गुरुकुलाला आर्थिक मदत करीन. काही महिन्यांनी त्या रिटायर्ड झाल्या, परंतु त्यांनी आमच्याकडे कायमची पाठ फिरवली (गरज सरो वैद्य मरो.)
त्यांच्या ग्रुपमधला महेंद्र जो बाहेरगावी जाण्यासाठी खूप प्रयत्न करीत होता, त्याला ताईंच्या गुरूंकडून अपयश येत होते, परंतु आपल्या नाथांच्या आदेशाने त्याला परदेशी जाण्याचा योग आला. मला हा लंडन वरून फोन करीत असे व मला बाबा संबोधून मी तुमच्या गुरुकुलासाठी मदत करीन असे वेळोवेळी आश्वासन देत असे, परंतु प्रत्यक्षात मदतीच्या नावाखाली त्यांनी अनेक सबबी दिल्या.

खरं तर ह्या सर्व मंडळीकडून मला कोणत्याच अपेक्षा नव्हत्या. परंतु या सर्वांची मनोवृत्ती सारखीच होती. हे कटाक्षाने जाणवत होते. परंतु मी घेतलेल्या जीवन ब्रह्म सेवेच्या व्रतासाठी मी त्यांची सेवा करीत होतो.
पदोपदी अशा नाना प्रकारच्या व्यक्तींशी माझा परिचय होत असतो. आपली कामे होईपर्यंत अनेक शपथा घेतात परंतु जसे काम झाले की, “कोण आणि कुठला गुरू ?” अशाही कारणाने अध्यात्म बदनाम होत चालले आहे आणि त्यात काही भोंदूची भर पडल्यामुळे श्रद्धेला अंधश्रद्धेचा मुलामा चढला आहे. त्यात खरे कोठे सारेच पीसले जात आहे.
Extremely Stupid

I had no expectations from the congregation. But all of them had the same attitude. It was palpable. But I was serving them for the vow of Jeevan Brahma Seva that I took.
Gradually I get acquainted with different types of people. Many take oaths until their work is done, but as the work goes on, “Who and what guru?” Due to such reasons, spirituality is being discredited, and due to the addition of some lies, faith has become covered with superstition where the truth is being grounded.
