राजमोहिनी
परिभाषिक नावे- संस्कृत: वनहरिद्रा, तांत्रिक भाषा : राजमोहिनी,
मराठी : वेडी हळद,
हिंदी : जंगली हलदी, इंग्रजी : वाइल्ड टर्मरिक, रेड झीडोरी कोचीन टर्मरिक.
ही हळद रानात मोठ्या जंगलात तसेच निर्जनस्थानी उगवते. तांत्रिकलोक ह्याची लागवड देखील करतात. पाने कोवळी असताना मध्यावर लाल जांभळट रंगाची रेघ असते. पूर्ण दशेत हा रंग नाहीसा होतो. पावसापूर्वी नवीन पाने फुटतात त्याबरोबर क्वचित फुले येतात. मुळाचे गठ्ठे चांगले खत पाणी दिल्यास मुठी एवढे होतात. मधला गठ्ठा अंड्याच्या असतो. बाह्य काळसर तसेच बरीच उपमुळे असतात. उपमुळांच्या शेंड्याशी नारिंगी रंगाचे गठ्ठे असतात. गठ्ठयाच्या आतील भाग गर्द नारिंगी रंगाचा असून वास हळदी पेक्षा सूर्य तीव्र तसेच,कापूरमिश्रित सुंठी सारखा.

गुणधर्म – भद्रकाली सारखे असतात विस्फोटक ज्वरात रोग बाहेर फुटण्यास खरजीत मार ठेच व सूज यावर ह्याचा लेप लावतात .
डोळे दुखी – उदा बरोबर लेप करतात.

This turmeric grows in vast forests as well as in deserts. Technicians also cultivate it. There is a reddish-purple line in the middle when the leaves are wilted.
